The soul is that spiritual DNA that connects each of us to God. It’s unique to each person, but it’s also the common denominator that all human beings share. In the same way that our DNA connects us to families in a unique way, the soul connects us to God.
It’s fair to say that we all have a piece of God within us. The soul is a unique presence that governs emotions and rational thought. The body is subject to death, but the soul is not. Just as God is eternal, so too is the soul because it is a part of God. It never dies.
